Soccer in the Streets
Access. Opportunity. Equity.
Soccer in the Streets is a community organization that focuses on local communities. Soccer in the Streets provides free access to local soccer programs for the youth and adults. Through the Soccer in the Streets program kids are provided free transportation to the various soccer stations throughout Atlanta and surrounding areas. Kids can visit their local soccer station and have access to homework assistance, a safe place to play soccer and receive support from Soccer in the Street staff.
They do not accept volunteers since Soccer in the Streets strives to provide consistent and familiar people that the kids come to know and trust.
Some of the initiatives and services that Soccer in the Streets provide include: community and school soccer programs, mini-soccer fields at stations, free train travel on MARTA to games and events, community gardens, and social and emotional learning curriculum.
Mingledorff’s has donated over $20,000 to the Soccer in the Streets program.
